Supervision of the construction of the first 2 km of the Skopje-Blace highway
The Civil Engineering Institute Macedonia has been selected by the Public Enterprise for State Roads to supervise the construction of the first 2 km of the Skopje-Blace highway.
Construction work could start by the end of 2019. The construction deadline is 18 months.
Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bujar Osmani and Director of the Public Enterprise for State Roads Zoran Kitanov held a press conference on this topic.
The future highway will be built according to European standards, with two lanes for driving and one lane for forced stop in one direction, the width of the lanes for driving is 3.5 meters, or the overall width in one direction is 10.25 meters - said the director of the Public Enterprise for State Roads Zoran Kitanov.
In addition to the realization of the first phase, Deputy Prime Minister Osmani informed that an American company is already working on the design of the remaining 10.5 kilometers from the Skopje-Blace highway.
The Skopje-Blace highway will be 12.5 km long, with four tunnels and eight bridges on the entire route from the Blace border crossing point to the "Stenkovec" interchange on the Skopje bypass.
The two stages of the construction of the entire alignment will cost about 110 million euros. The highway will be put into operation in 2023.
